Then yesterday I started "pushing buttons" and playing around with some features. That's when I took this shot. IT IS SO COOL. I was in bed reading through the user's guide and I actually hit Paul and said, "We have black and white on this thing. You never told me we had black and white!!!!!!!!" Claims he didn't know. I suppose I'll take his word :o)
So anyway here are some of the shots I took tonight after dinner. In case you're wondering....Kayla and Sophia were inside. Charlie and I were outside before the others. *And* there are probably more of Charlie because - well, honestly - the camera loves him!!! And so do I!
this is Paul after I *lovingly hit* him about the B/W finding! [he's gonna kill me for posting this!]
Well, Honey....does that make you miss 'em more? Or are you still figuring out a way to take the first picture off!?

I absolutly love the one of your little one with the baseball glove! Too precious!
How do you get the shots where the subject is in b/w but the grass/trees/whatever is in color? I always thought those were touched up in photoshop.
Isn't it amazing what can be discovered when we read the manual?? LOL
ooooooh, my camera just crapped out totally. I would take a picture of how sad it looks but...
Paula: it's called "color accent"
I LOVE the one with the glove too. I'm gonna do somethin' with that one.
most of the after effect stuff is done in programs like photoshop (rather than directly on the camera).
i hear picasa is a good program that allows you to do lots of editing and it is free from google but i have never used it (they only have it for pc and we have a mac). my sis-in-law uses it though and likes it

Wow, I need to check out my camera. I think I'd do better with if a real person came with the box to instruct me rather than those biblical sized manuals. Love the ones with the bit of color mixed w/ black and white. I guess those would be the "color accented" ones. And the one w/ Charlie and the glove needs to be entered into a contest or something! Oh my goodness is that the cutest picture ever! If Norman Rockwell were alive that could be made into a painting! Can you make a copy for his godparents? ;O)
Megan, that's what i told Paul. if someone *showed* me all the features and how to use them and when to use them, I'd be set!
Gee, I'd better try and find the manual to my camera as I really don't know what else it does. I found out about the movie capabilities by accident. I was wondering why some pictures on the viewfinder looked kind of blurry and had the little movie camera icon on it. Duh! The little dial had accidentally moved while it was in my purse!
Anyway, your pictures look nice!
