M.I.P.

I have sooo much to post, but lack the time.  I went to Hanceville, AL this past weekend to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament (Mother Angelica) and Fr. Joseph Mary spoke to 11 of us hsing mothers.  The following quote is with what he ended his inspirational talk.  I probably don't even need to add that there wasn't a dry eye after these words were spoken:

"The Most Important Person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral, a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby's body. The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God's creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation…What on God's good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother?" Cardinal Mindszenty

I LOVE this quote. What a lovely thing to read on a cold foggy morning. It brought some needed sunshine to my day. Thank you!

Great post! I'll always remember hearing that quote and then seeing Heather crying. It was a very touching moment.

what a wonderful quote.
how lucky you were to go to the shrine AND have a retreat there.
us mamas need sweet words of encouragement like that whispered to us once in a while by Our Blessed Lord.
