Oh yeah - let me get back to the things that he'll occupy his naptime with... he'll pull all his clothes out of his wardrobe, tear his books up, tear his cardboard stacking blocks up, get into his wipies and throw them all over his room. I'm sure there's more - these things surely make my head spin. However none of those things compare with how I feel when he doesn't take a nap. I could handle the messes/distruction a bit better if he actually slept!
So sometimes he'll crash around dinner time ...
He's also doing a lot of this these days...
he'll share his opinion with everyone - especially his dislikes - by yelling, pinching, whining, crying, falling on the floor... yeah, these are the fun times. Not.

But he is still my little lovebug. There are still many tender moments in between fits and rantings. I need to remember that. Hence the reason for the following shots...

Nothing can warm the heart like a big brother reading to his little brother. So precious!
he is such a doll, i doubt what you are saying about his mischief is true
r
yeah - I'm totally making it up so that you don't think i've got an angel for a son.
They are so sweet. When my oldest was Charlie's age, we turned the doorknob around so the lock faced into the hall. He would wander during naps too, and I needed him to rest! ;)
paula, we did the backwards doorknob for dd#3 too. whatever it takes baby!!
Gosh, they are cute! Mine all stopped napping at about 18 months. But, they also never got into stuff (no cereal poured out and stomped on ... no eggs cracked all over the place ... no sneaking out of the house ... etc). My kids are 15,13,11 and they are pretty good kids, considering. I want to say I'm lucky on one hand, but on the other I want to say it's just plain constant keeping my eye on them. :) Anyway, the cute buggers grow up so fast - keep enjoying them.
Oh, been there, done that. Darn Jane figured out the door knob cover though. Hubby finally gave in and and now we have two cribs, one for baby and one for the two year old. Two year old hasn't figured out the climbing out of the crib thing...yet, so he still takes naps.
Charlie is too cute!!!
i feel alot like charlie sometimes, so i totally understand why he does what he does. i wish someone would lock me in MY room like that! =)
Sounds like my John! :D Fun times, fun times.
So precious! The pictures of them reading together are framers. Love them.
I just love me that Charlie character. You could have a whole blog and just post pictures of him on it. I fell in love with him during that contest you entered him in way back when...remember that? Remember, he's not "naughty", he's "busy"!
Laura,
I thought this whole blog was about Charlie:)
I love the green crayon mark on his little head.
My advice or 2cents worth....lots and lots of fresh air in the morning. Outside time now that it is spring should tire him out???!!!!
Have you heard of the crib tent? We found it when my 8 mos old started climbing out of the crib. Yes, I did say 8 mos. old! We love our crib tent, it's now working on little brother. :)
