Little Flowers' Tea Party

at a previous meeting, the girls painted their flowerpots...

... and made some coffee filter flowers...

and even painted stamped flowers on their little teacups and saucers [well, espresso cups and saucers...]

Wide-brimmed straw hats at Michael's... $3!

The girls played a few games. The first was a Guess Who of sorts. Each girl was given a pink paper heart on which she secretly wrote down things she liked.... food, animals, colors, activities... whatever and she wrote her name on the heart. On a separate piece of paper the girls had to guess which girl was described as the hearts were read.

Our artistic mom [she's awesome, she's in charge of all the crafts! Former art teacher... she rocks!] has offered to make an instructional video/pictures showing the coffee filter flowers - so be on the lookout for those [Michele, consider the fire lit :)]

The Memory Game... the girls had to remember as many items on the tray as they could
within a few minutes...
...and the winners Another activity they did was to match up the saint to her virtue of the ones which were studied for this wreath/year.

The mothers served the daughters. Since this was our group's first tea, we decided they should learn by being served first.

With each saint studied, there is a virtue and a flower to go along with that particular female saint. We make a wreath with our flowers which the girls wear for the May Crowning - and for the tea we simply attach the Wreath of Virtues to the hat [or just place them on the hat :)].

Cute enough idea...

... the little girls just got lost behind the railing :)

Shelly, I'm really impressed. The girls were all just beautiful in their little hats!!! I know you put in lots of work to make such a special day for the girls.

BTW, not sure why my blog isn't updating on your blogroll. Any ideas? I checked with typepad and they say its not them or me.
